Introducing something new…

We try our very best to make the shop as beautiful and inviting as possible, a colourful cornucopia of sights and smells and gorgeously unique things that make Harriet and Rose, well, Harriet and Rose. Whether it’s finding new and unusual stock, creating our wonderful window displays, or having an entire furniture move around (read: make our upstairs look like the aftermath of a book and homeware explosion), we are always busy away behind the scenes.

Getting the shop to look its absolute best is a little bit like the iceberg analogy - but if you made the iceberg bright and fabulous, of course - in the fact that what customers see is only the very lovely tip, and beneath the surface (the bits that aren’t visible) is lots of hard work, lots of teamwork, lots of collaboration, and some very brilliant ideas. And this year, our iceberg is expanding to sharing Harriet and Rose with you in an entirely new and exciting way.

Available now are some very special own brand items. These have been lovingly debated, trialed, and crafted to ensure that they are the best, most ‘Harriet and Rose’ things we can offer. All about sustainability, supporting local, and creating something to cherish. Now, you really can give the gift of ‘Harriet and Rose’!

You may, if you follow us on social media, have seen Harriet talking about a very new and exciting addition to the shop. We will shortly be debuting our very own Harriet and Rose Candles, including a signature ‘No. 71’ aka ‘Septant-tch’leune’ (that’s our address on King Street!) scent, that we feel captures the scent of the shop that so many of you often ask for. As well as ‘71’, we will be offering a few other scents that we love and think you will too. These include Rosa Sol, Green Tea, Black Pomegranate and Bay, Coffee Break, and Leather and Tobacco. There is a scent profile that matches and suits every person, and we have created each scent with a corresponding number is Jerriais to add another local touch.

Our candles will come in plenty of different sizes, and we will be offering a refill service too - an option that we have not been able to offer for a for a few years. There will be smaller, travel tin sizes, (£10) featuring slogans - both sweary and nice - and simple tins that just detail the scents. Perfect for care packages, little pick me ups or as a small something for yourself. As well as this, we have extra special vessels hand thrown vessels by local potters at the Wheelhouse Pottery Studio. The glazes are truly so beautiful, and we have been so excited to see the process and be able to pur with them! Size wise, we are offering 120-140ml (£20), 150-180ml (£25), 300-350ml (£45) and 600ml (£75). Refills will cost less to take in consideration the use of the original vessel. We are all about sustainability and this is a lovely way to reduce waste, as well as support local.

And it’s not just candles that we are bringing some Harriet and Rose sparkle to! We have, after lots of designing and trialling (and many wonderful baths in the name of testing) later, created our own beautiful range of bath salts. These include Rose Geranium, Lavender, Citrus, Rosemary and an Epsom Salt blend too. Each sachet (including labels!) are environmentally friendly, aligned with our ethos. Each sachet will be £5 and make the best little pick me ups!

If you thought that would be it for new additions, then you’d be mistaken! We have also dabbled (and done a great job, if we do say so ourselves) in creating our own, exclusive prints. These include funny and sweary slogans, to print iterations of our fabulous Jersey design. We are offering them framed and mounted for £28, or framed without a mount for £20. We have some examples displayed on our fresh and tidy wall display up our stairs. In case you have the perfect frame and you were simply looking for the print to fit, we also offer the print mounted (£15) and unmounted (£10) too. You can find them dotted around the shop floor in boxes, ready for you to choose your favourite!

Alongside these new additions, we will also have our Jersey cushions, tote bags and tea towels available, which are Harriet and Rose exclusive and have been since last summer. These make the perfect holiday memento, housewarming gift, or leaving present. A little piece of our beautiful island to enjoy!
