With summer here (and holidays!) we often fancy something new and bright for the sunnier weather. Jewellery is not just a way to express yourself, it can be an extension of your personality, something extremely sentimental, or equally something that can be forgotten about and worn for days. However jewellery works for you, we have lots on offer to become your new favourite pieces!
We always try to get a range of jewellery in store - something for every taste and style - and we like to say that we have a great selection. There’s something bold, something timeless, something wearable - from plated stainless steel to sterling silver. We are often asked why our jewellery is never on the website, and it is simply because our pieces fly out so quickly that we would never be able to keep on top of stock levels!! We prefer to order in small quantities so you know that your piece is special, and we choose brands that align with our ethos (as well as who make pieces that look good and wear well). So we thought we’d do a little run down on our brilliant jewels we have available in the shop, so that you can be prepared to say hello to your new summer pieces.
Our Ms Harriet and Rose range is by far our most loved summer range (but equally all year round too!) as all the jewellery is plated stainless steel, which means its tarnish-proof! Perfect for the summer with no need to worry removing your jewellery to swim or sunbathe. We have plenty of trendy rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings in stock. There’s pearls, gems, plain chains, sparkly bracelets - really something for every style and person. If you’re looking for a fairly hardy piece of jewellery to do the work this summer, these are your pieces! We are often getting new pieces in that reflect what’s trending jewellery-wise too, so if you are wanting a gift for your trendy friend, or a younger relative - these are a great choice. We have both gold and silver pieces available.
Bonnecoeur are the resident French range that we stock, with beautiful sacred heart styled pendants on long chains as well a myriad of adjustable cord necklaces. All made from plated brass, these are beautiful and unique. The cord necklaces especially are great as you can easily adjust the length depending on how you feel - so one day can go long, the next day a choker, so super versatile! We love the filagree style of the larger pendants (which are a steal at £24) and if you are a lover of chunky pendants and gold…then these are the necklaces for you!
Our Scream Pretty range of sterling silver earrings have been a bestseller since we opened the shop, and for very good reason. They are made extremely well and are the easiest earrings to wear, with Harriet often leaving hers in for days as they are that comfy! All the Team swear by them too. Our ‘huggie’ style are particularly popular as they wear so easily, sitting close to the earlobe so you can forget you even have them in. We have a range of styles in stock - plain, sparkly, opals, pearls, charms - and they are perfect for all ages. Scream Pretty earrings also are suited to layering with one another, so you can create cohesive (or mismatching!) earring stacks that suit all your piercings. We also love Scream Pretty because of the fact they support the women that they employ to make the earrings, providing childcare and opportunities that would not otherwise be options.
Brand new to us, Cuteryko earrings are handmade acrylic earrings which are super funky and fun! We have ordered in a small quantity across their ranges to gauge interest levels - and they’ve been flying! From tarot cards, to lemons, to rainbow trout, and espresso martinis, these are super cute, lightweight and fashionable. Perfect for those of you who fancy something bold! All of the designs come on gold plated stainless steel hoops, so tarnish resistant too! Cuteryko started as a hobby business creating eye-catching earrings, and has kept on growing since. They are something different and unique, and make a wonderful gift for those people in your life that love to be bold and exciting with fashion!
We of course also stock some local jewellery too. Emily Claire’s sterling recycled silver jewellery is designed and hand made by her in her studio, including necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings. Emily uses eco-friendly silversmithing methods to create her stunning jewellery, and all her packaging is environmentally friendly too. She often uses ethically source semi-precious gemstones within her jewellery, with simplicity and refinement at the heart of her designs. Her rings especially make lovely stackable pieces, whilst being dainty in their own right.
Wild Clementine Jewellery, made by our Assistant Manager Clemmie, are locally made necklaces and earrings using ethically sourced semi-precious beads and recycled sterling silver findings. There are plenty of mixed brights and unusual textures, with her designs drawing on the natural world around us. We also have our range of star sign jewellery for you zodiac lovers! If you prefer a more statement piece, we have medallion style star sign necklaces available in gold plated stainless steel with beautiful designs, or we have finer plated sterling silver necklaces with birthstones and zodiac pendants available too. These make such thoughtful gifts for those that indulge in the zodiacs or just as a little more personal gift (and we are always on hand to work our where birthdays fall with star signs!)
