Newness and excitement!

After a well-deserved break and a few weeks of getting back into the swing of things (and jointly all despairing about the weather) we are fully back in business! New Year is all about newness for us – as well as the boring stuff such as stocktaking, tackling the vastness that is our back office, and lots and lots of cleaning – so we thought we’d let you all in on what we’ve been up to, and what excitement holds for the year!

Our façade has had a rose-y update for January! Many of you have probably noticed a splash of cheery yellow on the high street from our roses…or seen our Facebook posts looking for our lost-never-to-be-found gold roses (if you do still happen to find any of them on their after-storm adventures, we’d love them back…and will reward you handsomely with Spacemasks!). Sveta from Muse More than Flowers has worked her magic once again and transformed our frontage! We hope it will make you all smile as much as it adds a bit of brightness to this rather gloomy time of year.

On the stock front, the Team’s bi-annual trade show trip to London allowed us to meet with not only the friendly faces of our current stockists but also find lots of new and exciting things! The shop will be exploding with brand new jewellery, candles, vases, scrunchies and plenty of cool cards too. We’d go as far as to say it’s looking like it’ll be our most exciting year yet, and if you’re a regular customer you’ll know that’s quite a feat to beat.

Plenty of newness is also due from our tried-and-true stockists, including and not limited to the popular ‘Bags of Stuff’, Elizabeth Scarlett and Samantha Holmes socks. We as a team are so very excited for you to be able to experience the joy of all the fancy, different, and new items to add to the list of things-you-never-knew-you-needed. And trust us, there is plenty of those!!

Whilst we are waiting for all our new stock to arrive, it’s allowed for us to have a bit of a shuffle around (which as a team, we are all for a bit of moving!) As always, if you can’t seem to find a certain card, book, or any of our usual stock, just ask a member of the team. We’re always on hand to help with options (or locating things!).

This time is often all about the sales. January sales are, after all, often considered a shopper’s dream. However to us a small independent business, sales are not part of our ethos. We believe in fair pricing year-round, so you know that you’re not being over-charged or buy something just to see it vastly reduced the next week. But to make space for the many, many deliveries we have due – the list is reminiscent of a small child’s Christmas wish list – we have a little reduced table of some Christmas decorations and candles downstairs by the till.

We also have plenty of new and exciting things as a team for Harriet and Rose that are in the works this year – so watch this space!

2026 is also the year that our team is becoming social media masters…or at least trying. If there are any Instagram reels you want to see from us, let us know. If you like a quick Facebook or Instagram story of what’s new for the week, or a run-down of where items have moved to, we’ll be on the case. As we are not quite social media whizzes, you might need to give us a bit of grace. Either way buckle up for reels of the team looking mildly uncomfortable in front of the camera, plenty of laughter and lots of exciting stock.

So all in all, 2026 is already off to a cracking start, and it’s only just began!
